大約四, 五年前, 在閱讀 The Guardian 電影評論, 提及這本

在法國最受歡迎小說連續半年的小說, 到圖書館借了英譯本,

讀了很震撼, 略一才 11歲的精靈古怪的天才小孩, 與深藏不露, 

隱藏自己多學及過去創傷, 藉著門房管理員, 兩者間的交往; 

作者是位有社會心理學的訓練, 旅居日本; 劇中安排了一幕,

女主角與一位富有多學的日本房客間, 相互欣賞, 又暗藏情愫

的一段, 改拍成電影, 如下連結, 有英文字幕;
